Gorleston-on-Sea, Suffolk / Norfolk

Gorleston-on-Sea is a former port town at the mouth of River Yare, now a seaside resort with huge sandy beach, cliff gardens and grand esplanade. The town lies across (to the west of) the River Yare from Great Yarmouth. Most of the town, including the esplanade, lies in Suffolk. The area around The Pier (a breakwater at the south of the mouth of the Yare) lies in Norfolk. This area includes the Pavilion Theatre, the Bandstand and the north end of the beach. The town is within the council area of Great Yarmouth (Norfolk).
