Gorbals, Lanarkshire
The Gorbals is an area of Glasgow, Lanarkshire, on the south bank of the River Clyde. From its origins as a small village, the area grew rapidly from the early 19th century as thousands of migrants arrived to work in the city’s industries. The post-war period saw major and continuing redevelopments. It is within the council area of City of Glasgow.
