Golders Green, Middlesex

Golders Green is a suburban town in Middlesex. It was founded as a mediæval hamlet in the ancient parish of Hendon. Until the 20th century, it remained a small linear village along road from Hendon to Hampstead. It grew rapidly following the opening of Golders Green tube station in 1907 and now essentially forms a small town, distincy from Hendon. There has been a prominent Jewish community in Golders Green since the early 20th century. The town is within the council area of Barnet.
