Golborne, Lancashire

Golborne is a town in Lancashire. During the Industrial Revolution, Golbourne grew around the mining and textile industries. A memorial stone stands at the entrance to the former Golbourne Colliery in memory of all those who worked and died there 1880-1989. Peter Kane Square and memorial clock is named in honour of local boxing world champion Peter Kane. The town is within the council area of Wigan.
