Godstow Abbey, Oxfordshire
Godstow Abbey (aka Godstow Nunnery) is a ruined abbey on the west bank of the River Thames near Lower Wolvercote, Oxfordshire. The abbey was founded in 1133 and dissolved in 1539. It was the last resting place of Rosamund Clifford (died c. 1176), "the Fair Rosamend", a long-term mistress of Henry II. The ruins are within the council area of Oxford (Oxfordshire).
