Gidea Park, Essex

Gidea Park is an eastern suburb of Romford, Essex. It began in the late Edwardian era as Romford Garden Suburb, built on land belonging to the ancient Gidea Hall estate. The homes were well-built, light and airy, and constructed in a variety of individual styles. Clough Williams-Ellis designed 23 Reed Pond Walk. Further developments following in the 1930s. Gidea Hall was demolished in the 1930s but features of the estate, including the walls and gates, orangery, lime walk, ponds and a bathing temple have been retained among the housing. It is within the council area of Havering.
