Gayton, Cheshire

Gayton is a village in Cheshire, on the western side of the Wirral peninsula. It is contiguous with Heswall to its north-west. William of Orange stayed at Gayton Hall in 1689 en route to the Battle of the Boyne. The village is within the council area of Wirral.
