Gateacre, Lancashire

Gateacre is a former village that is now a suburb of Liverpool, Lancashire. It remained a rural village until the 1800s, when it grew rapidly as new transport links and businesses developed. Though Gateacre became part of the county borough of Liverpool in 1913, it did not become part of the city's urban area until large scale housing developments occurred in the 1960s and 1960s. It is within the council area of Liverpool.
