Galston, Ayrshire

Galston is a town in Ayrshire. The town is situated in wooded countryside four miles up-river from Kilmarnock. Barr Castle is a 15th-century, five-storeyed red sandstone tower castle which stands as a prominent feature on a rocky knoll close to the Burn Anne, within the town's boundaries. The town is within the council area of East Ayrshire.
