Fulwood, Lancashire
Fulwood is a town in Lancashire. Fulwood is now sometimes considered a northern suburb of Preston, though it retains a distinct identity and character. Fulwood is an ancient parish which developed as a town in the second half of the 19th century, with a further period of expansion in the late 20th century. For local government purposes, from 1894-1974 it formed the basis of Fulwood urban district. Fulwood Barracks is the site of the Queen's Lancashire Regiment Museum. There are many fine Victorian buildings including Fulwood Union Workhouse and Harris Orphanage. Fulwood is within the council area of Preston (Lancashire).
