Friars Goose, Durham
Friars Goose is an urban locality in Felling, County Durham, located by the south banks of the River Tyne. Its name derives from the 11th century, when local Roman Catholic Friars collected Gorse, commonly known as "Friar's Goose" here. The area later became the site of a colliery and shipbuilding yard. It is within the council area of Gateshead.
