Frecheville, Derbyshire

Frecheville is a suburban village in Derbyshire. It was built as a housing estate in the 1930s by Henry Boot Limited, to the south of the Shire Brook and Birley Collieries, which provided employment in the area. Frecheville became part of the municipal area of Sheffield in 1967 and is sometimes now considered an outer suburb of Sheffield, though it remains separated from the main Sheffield urban area by woods, parkland and the brook itself. Frecheville Pond is a popular fishing site close to the church of St Cyprians. The village is within the council area of Sheffield.
