Fratton is a former village that is now an urban area in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Fratton is one of the three settlements on Portsea Island listed in Domesday, as 'Frodentone'. It became subsumed by the growth of the urban area around Portsmouth by the mid 19th century and incorporated into the Portsmouth municipal area shortly thereafter. The current St Mary's Church, designed by Sir Arthur Blomfield, dates from 1887. Fratton is within the council area of Portsmouth.
