Fossditch, Norfolk

Fossditch (aka Fossdyke) is an ancient defensive bank and ditch linear feature running north to south between the River Wissey and the Little Ouse, near Cranwich and Weeting in Norfolk. Excavations suggest that the Fossditch dates to the Early Saxon period. It is probable that the earthwork formed a line of defence controlling a particular territory. The monument is within the council areas of King's Lynn and West Norfolk and Breckland (Norfolk).
