Fort George, Inverness-shire

Fort George is a 18th-century artillery fort complex near Ardersier, Inverness-shire. It was built between 1748 and 1769 in response to the Jacobite Uprising of 1745. It is an exceptional example of 18th-century artillery fort which has been in continuous military use. It is within the council area of Highland.
