Fort Charlotte, Shetland

Fort Charlotte is a five-sided artillery fort in Lerwick, Mainland, Shetland. The first incarnation of the fort was built between 1652 and 1653 during the First Anglo-Dutch War. The second at the start of the Second Anglo-Dutch War in 1665, with the present structure dating from 1781. It is within the council area of Shetland Islands.
