Fort Belan, Caernarfonshire

Fort Belan is a late 18th-century coastal fortress, situated at the tip of the Dinlle Peninsula, Caernarfonshire. The fort was built in 1775 by Thomas Wynn, MP for Caernarfonshire, who was worried about the vulnerability of Britain's coastline to attack, particularly because of the recently begun American War of Independence. It is within the council area of Gwynedd.
