Flat Howe, Yorkshire
Flat Howe is a prehistoric round barrow surmounted by the remains of the base for a mediæval wayside cross, located near Westerdale, Yorkshire, in the North Riding. The barrow survives as a 65ft-diameter mound, standing up to 2ft high. The top is slightly flattened and at its centre there are the remains of a roughly dressed stone cross base. The cross base is now missing its south-eastern corner and the surviving section is split in two. It is within the council area of North Yorkshire.
