Finnis, Down
Finnis (aka Massford) is a hamlet, lying on the west bank of the River Laggan in County Down. It is within the townland of Finnis, in the civil parish of Dromara. The settlement lies in the far north-east of Finnis townland and was more generally known as Massford until the late 20th century. St Michael's Church was built in 1835. The Finnis National School opened in 1844 and was demolished in 1980. St Michael's Primary School, which replaced it, opened in 1964. The village is within the council area of Newry, Mourne and Down.
