Fingahy, Antrim
Finaghy is a suburban area in the south-west of Belfast, County Antrim. It is within the townland of Ballyfinaghy, in the civil parish of Drumbeg. Finaghy House, dating from the late-17th century, was converted into a mansion by James Moore during the 1890s. It remained a family home until 1960, when it was converted into a residential care home and renamed Faith House. The townland remained almost entirely rural until the 20th century. Finaghy Railway Station opened in 1907. The Finaghy Park area developed around it during the inter-war period, a period which also saw suburban Belfast spread westwards along the Lisburn Road. The rest of the townland saw housing development from the 1950s. Finaghy is within the council area of Belfast.
