Felling, Durham

Felling is a town in County Durham. The town developed during the 19th century by the amalgamation of the previously separate villages of High Felling and Low Felling, the town later expanding to include the Felling Shore area by the Tyne. From 1894 to 1974 the town, along with surrounding villages, was part of the Felling Urban District Council area. It is within the council area of Gateshead.
