Featherstone, Yorkshire

Featherstone (formerly known as South Featherstone) is a town in Yorkshire, in the West Riding. The town of Featherstone was developed around the railway station to the south of original village of Featherstone (now known as North Featherstone). South Featherstone (as it was originally known) grew around coal mining. The town is within the council area of Wakefield.
