Fair Isle, Shetland
Fair Isle is an island halfway between mainland Shetland and Orkney, though forming part of the county of Shetland. It is known for its bird observatory and a traditional style of knitting. It was bought by the National Trust for Scotland in 1954. The island is within the council area of Shetland Islands.
