Eynesford Castle, Kent
Eynesford Castle is a ruined mediæval enclosure castle in Eynsford, Kent. It comprises an inner and an outer bailey, the former protected by a stone curtain wall. The curtain wall is believed to have been constructed c.1090 by William de Eynsford, possibly on the site of an earlier earthwork castle with a timber watch-tower. A large stone hall was added in the 12th century. The castle fell into ruins from the 14th century. The monument is in the care of English Heritage. It is within the council area of Sevenoaks (Kent).
