Exeter Cathedral, Devon
Exeter Cathedral (formally the Cathedral Church of St Peter) is a Church of England cathedral in Exeter, Devon. It is the seat of the Bishop of Exeter. The founding of the cathedral at Exeter dates to 1050 but the present building was not commenced until 1133 and not completed until about 1400. Whilst begun in the Norman style, from the mid 13th-century it was completed in the Decorated Gothic style. Much of the Norman building was kept, including the two massive square towers. It has the longest uninterrupted mediæval stone vaulted ceiling in the world. The cathedral is within the council area of Exeter (Devon).
