Evesham, Worcestershire
Evesham is a market town in Worcestershire. The town lies in the Vale of Evesham, within a meander of the River Avon. The town was founded around an 8th-century abbey, later destroyed during the Dissolution of the Monasteries, with only Abbot Lichfield's Bell Tower remaining. St Lawrence's Church and its neighbour All Saints were built by the Benedictine monks of Evesham Abbey in the 12th century. The Art Deco Regal Cinema was designed by Hurley Robinson in 1932. The town is within the council area of Wychavon (Worcestershire).
