Etruria is an urban area on the western outskirts of Hanley, Staffordshire. Josiah Wedgewood opened the Etruria Works in 1769. Etruria Hall, his home, was built between 1768–1771 by Joseph Pickford. The area was named after the Italian district of Etruria. The Etruria Industrial Museum is a well-preserved 19th century steam-powered potter's mill, situated between the Trent and Mersey Canal and the Etruria staircase locks of the Caldon Canal.
