Errigal Keerogue Cross and Church, Tyrone
Errigal Keerogue Cross and Church is a ruined mediæval church and sandstone cross, located in the civil parish of Errigal Keerogue, County Tyrone. A pre-Norman monastry was founded here by either Dachiarag or Ciaran. The later (now ruined) mediæval parish church was destroyed 1380. The sandstone cross is set west of the church and is 6ft tall. It consists of a tapering shaft surmounted by a circular head just over 2ft in diameter. The carving of the cross was never finished. The monument is in the care of the Department for Communities. The monument is within the council area of Mid Ulster.
