Erme Pound, Devon
Erme Pound is an ancient enclosure defined by massively built walls, located on Dartmoor, Devon. The enclosure measures about 2/3 mile in circumference and contains many internal paddocks and boundaries, together with approximately 29 Bronze Age stone hut circles. The age and original purpose of the enclosure is not certain, though it was used as an animal pound until at least the 16th century. The monument is within the council area of South Hams (Devon).
