Emerson Park, Essex

Emerson Park is a suburb of Hornchurch, Essex. Emerson Park is named after Emerson, the eldest son of William Carter who bought land for property development in 1895. Carter put up a wide variety of dwellings, from bungalows to family houses with accommodation for servants. Other developers added their own estates, such as Haynes Park and Great and Little Nelmes, but the original name has come to apply to the whole neighbourhood. It is within the council area of Havering.
