Elstree, Hertfordshire / Middlesex

Elstree is a village which stands either side of the Middlesex - Hertfordshire border (Watford Road/Barnet Lane). The parish church, St Nicholas, is on the Hertfordshire side. The village is best known for its association with the film industry, though only one studio has ever been located in Elstree itself, the rest being at nearby Borehamwood. The village is within the council areas of Hertsmere district and Hertfordshire county council.
