East Wickham is a suburban village in Kent. The earliest reference is to 'Estwycham' from 1284. The village remained largely rural well into the 20th century, during which it saw significant suburban development. It is now contiguous with the town of Welling to its south. St Michael's Church dates from the 13th century. The village was the childhood home of musician Kate Bush. It is within the council area of Bexley.
