Durovigutum, Huntingdonshire

Durovigutum is a site of the Roman town which was the ancient precursor to Godmanchester, Huntingdonshire. The Roman settlement was at a crossroads of Ermine Street and the Via Devana. Roman archeological discoveries in the town include a basilica, a bathhouse, temple and a Mansio. The end of the third century saw a catastrophic contraction of the Roman town. It is within the council area of Huntingdonshire (Cambridgeshire).
