Dungiven Priory, Londonderry

Dungiven Priory is a ruined 12th-century Augustinian priory, located near the village of Dungiven, County Londonderry. The initial building was an Early Christian monastery, which became a mediæval Augustinian priory in the 12th century. The gothic chancel was added to the church in the 13th century. The priory was extended again in the 15th century and a tower house built. The buildings were remodelled in the 17th century, when it became the site of Sir Edward Doddington's grand house and bawn. The monument is in the care of the Department for Communities. The monument is within the council area of Causeway Coast and Glens.
