Dundrum, Down
Dundrum is a village, lying on Inner Dundrum Bay in County Down. It is within the townland of Dundrum, in the civil parish of Kilmegan. The ruined Anglo-Norman Dundrum Castle overlooks the village. At the start of the 19th century Dundrum comprised a single street. From 1806, Arthur Hill, 3rd Marquess of Downshire engaged engineers to develop the area, deepening the harbour and building a 300ft pier. Dundrum Railway Station opened in 1869. The village is within the council area of Newry, Mourne and Down.
