Dunblane Cathedral, Perthshire
Dunblane Cathedral is a Church of Scotland mediæval church in Dunblane, Perthshire. Prior to the Scottish Reformation, it was the seat of the bishop of Dunblane. The church is dedicated to the 6th-century saint, St Blane, and gives its name to the settlement. The lower half of the tower is pre-Romanesque from the 11th century, the upper part was added in the 15th century. Most of the rest of the building is Gothic, from the 13th century. In the nave is a standing stone by Richard Kindersley which commemorates the victims of the Dunblane Massacre. The church is within the council area of Stirling.
