Dulverton, Somerset

Dulverton is a town in Somerset. It lies on the River Barle, within the Exmoor National Park and close to the border with Devon. It was recorded in Domesday as Dolvertune. It grew in the Middle Ages, with the establishment of fairs and markets and of small industries based upon the traditions of upland farming and the wool trade. The Church of All Saints has a tower from the 15th century. Dulverton Town Hall (1866) is in the neoclassical style. The town is within the council area of Somerset.
