Drumalane, Armagh
Drumalane is an urban area in the western part of Newry, lying west of the Clanrye River in County Armagh. It is within the townland of Drumalane, in the civil parish of Newry. The northern part of Drumalane townland saw some industrial development during the 19th century, contiguous with Ballybot to its north. The townland has been more extensively developed for housing from the mid 20th century. Drumalane House dates from around 1880, on the site of an earlier house. Drumalane Mill opened around 1866 and closed in 1961, later being repurposed as a retail site. The area is within the council area of Newry, Mourne and Down.
