Droylsden, Lancashire

Droylsden is a town in Lancashire. Droylsden grew as a mill town on the Ashton and Peak Forest canals. From the 1930s it expanded as a housing overflow area from Manchester. For local government purposes, Denton was the basis of an urban district from 1894 to 1974. The town is within the council area of Tameside.
