Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire

Droitwich Spa (or just Droitwich) is a historic spa town standing on the River Salwarpe in Worcestershire. Salt has been extracted here since ancient times, the Roman's calling the settlement 'Salinae'. In the 19th century, entrepreneur John Corbett developed the town’s spa facilities, attracting visitors seeking the therapeutic benefits of floating in dense brine. Droitwich Spa Lido is a salt-water art-deco lido, originally opened in the 1930s and restored in the early 21st century. The town is within the council area of Wychavon (Worcestershire).
