Derrynoyd Demesne, Londonderry
The Derrynoyd Demesne is a historic estate, located near Draperstown in County Londonderry. Derrynoid Lodge was built around 1809 for the judge, Robert Torrens. The house was demolished in 1952 following a fire. In 1995, the former land steward’s house and servant’s quarters were restored to create the Derrynoid Rural College, later known as the Derrynoid Centre. Much of the Demesne has been developed for forestry since the mid 20th century. The estate is within the council area of Mid Ulster.
