Dergmoney, Tyrone

Dergmoney is an urban area in the south of Omagh, County Tyrone. It is within the townlands of Dergmoney Upper and Dergmoney Lower, in the civil parish of Drumragh. The northern part of Dergmoney Lower townland has long formed part of the central area of Omagh. The area south along the Dublin Road was developed from the early 20th century, Omagh Golf Club opening here in 1910. The southern parts of Dergmoney Lower townland and Dergmoney Upper townland were developed as suburban housing from later in the 20th century, Dergmoney House being demolished in 1967. The area is within the council area of Fermanagh and Omagh.
