Dean, Midlothian
Dean (also known as Dean Village) is a former village immediately north-west of the city centre of Edinburgh, Midlothian. Dean is one of the oldest of the villages that lay around the original Royal Burgh of Edinburgh. It was formerly known as the "Water of Leith Village" and was a successful grain milling area for more than 800 years. It is within the council area of City of Edinburgh.
