Dartmouth, Devon
Dartmouth is a busy port and naval town on the west bank of the estuary of the River Dart in Devon. The town contains many mediæval and Elizabethan streetscapes and is a patchwork of narrow lanes and stone stairways. One of the best known buildings is the 17th-century Butterwalk. The town is within the council area of South Hams (Devon).
