Dargate Dikes, Yorkshire
Dargate Dikes is a prehistoric linear boundary in the North Riding Forest Park near Allerston, Yorkshire, in the North Riding. The boundary consists of three parallel steep-sided ditches, each of which runs between two banks of earth and stone. Together the earthworks have an overall width of about 125ft. The eastern Tabular Hills is an area which has many networks of prehistoric land boundaries, thought to have originated in the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age and to represent systems of territorial land division. The monument is within the council area of North Yorkshire.
