Danebury Ring, Hampshire

Danebury Ring (aka Danebury Hill Camp) is an Iron Age hillfort near Danebury, Hampshire. The hillfort was extensively excavated by Barry Cunliffe during the 1970s from which much of our knowledge of hillforts has derived. It was built in the 6th century BC and finally abandoned about 100 BC. Danebury was remodelled several times during it period of occupation, becoming more complex over time. It is within the council area of Test Valley (Hampshire).
