Danby Castle, Yorkshire
Danby Castle is a 14th-century castle, now partly in use as a farmhouse, near Danby, Yorkshire, in the North Riding. The current building dates from the late 14th century, with alterations in the 16th century. Much of the building later fell into ruin, but part of the southern range was converted into a farmhouse, with a courtroom on the first floor, formerly the great chamber. The castle is constructed of sandstone with roofs of tile and pantile. It is within the council area of North Yorkshire.
