Cynon Valley, Glamorgan

The Cynon Valley (Welsh: Cwm Cynon) is a former coal mining valley in Glamorgan. It lies between the Rhondda and the Merthyr valleys. It is named from the River Cynon. The valley has two main towns: Aberdare in the north and Mountain Ash in the south. It is within the council area of Rhondda Cynon Taf.
