Cymbeline's Castle, Buckinghamshire
Cymbeline's Castle is a Norman motte-and-bailey castle near Ellesborough, Buckinghamshire. It occupies a prominent position on the northern edge of the Chiltern escarpment, overlooking the villages of Ellesborough and Little Kimble. The motte measures about 140ft in diameter and between 20-25ft in height. A level area on the summit, about 50ft wide, indicates where a timber tower stood. There are two baileys, the larger measuring about 130ft across and enclosed by a broad ditch. The monument is within the council area of Buckinghamshire.
