Crumlin, Antrim

Crumlin is a town, lying on the south bank of the Crumlin River in County Antrim. It is within the townlands of Ballytromery, Ballygortgarve and Ballydonaghy, in the civil parish of Camlin. There are records of a settlement at Crumlin going back to at least 1306. Linen weaving and labouring were the main forms of employment by the start of the 19th century. The town has seen large-scale housing development since the Second World War. On 13 September 1902, the Crumlin meteorite landed landed on Andrew Walker's farm near the village. The town is within the council area of Antrim and Newtownabbey.
